My Writings. My Thoughts.

Team Unity

Heading in to Tulsa Tough 3 days of fast criterium racing I had a small bit of doubt that I would even be able to hold on to the pace let alone sprint.  As far as my team was concerned we were going to win and win big we did.  Over the last few months I have been able to see my Jelly Belly team evolve in to a well oil machine that is quite confident of each part of its system.  Starting on the first night til the last day Jelly Belly was able to ride as if we had planned every follow, attack, and counter attack.  The first night I look up with 13 laps to go with my team amassed on the front of the field preparing to set up there chosen sprinter of the day, ME.  Although I was still attempting to find my blown legs from a late race breakaway back in 80th position.  Seeing my team at the front for me was a quick slap in the face to wake up and get your ass up there NOW!  Long weekend story shortened, Jelly Belly rode so well that I my confidence grew and grew each day.  Even if I was in the hurt locker several times throughout the weekend.  Thank you to my amazing teammates and staff that enabled its Jelly Belly Sprinter to take 2 out of 3 stages and the overall victory for Tulsa Tough!  I pray that this is only the beginning for the sugar coated boys?

missing in action

So as far as my racing season is concerned I would say that Brad Huff has been missing in action.  Ya I have raced here or there, but I have been non existent to really speak the truth.  I am crossing my fingers and backing way off in my diesel training so that I might actually ride better than lantern rouge.  Although I will say if you need a buddy in a race when it comes to making the days time cut, well I am your man.  Some how I have ridden myself through solo moves completely off the back of nearly every race and somehow I am able to procure my legs to keep on keep’n on to fight the time cut another day.
With nearly 4 months of full schedule racing ahead of us….well 6 months if you race for Jelly Belly…..I pray that I am able to regain some form that I once had.
On a more positive front, I am ecstatic about how well the squad of Jelly Belly has been performing this year.  I am amazed at times at how strong our guys are able to be.  I look forward to assisting them all towards some memorable victories and amazing rides in life over the rest of the year!

New jelly belly flavor?

// March 21st, 2009 // 1 Comment » // Uncategorized

Ya they should make a glazed donut flavor or better yet sprinkled donut flavor? I totally had a hillarious time eating this donut as weekend warriors pedalled past me just wanting to stop and get one. It was totally worth the stop!
