WOW! It certainly was Epic!
The BT Epic stands for Berryman Trail that is located in the Mark Twain National Forest area just south of Saint Louis, MO.  This Epic MTB race that happen yesterday October 26 but I will certainly be talking about it for another several weeks with all my mates that participated.

The BT Epic is a 57 MILES mountain bike race……yes 57 MILES….well 56.6 but at that point it is 57.  Nealry 90% of this race was single track that is some of the best around.  Had it not been for the fact that I was on my bike for 4hr 43min I might have actually enjoyed the trail more.  Technical trail with short climbs, fast sections, steep sections, fast flowing sections, fun sections, horrible sections, thinking your lost sections, mentally destroying climb on pavement section, then nearly 5 miles of gravel roads to take you home!
WOW! That thing was EPIC.
This first year race had some of the best payout I have ever experienced for a mountain bike race and next year it is going to be even better!  What can I say “Crazy” Scott Davis of http://www.springfieldbicycle.com/default.htm and is crew of only a hand full put on a damn good race.
29ers, 69ers, 26ers, Single speeders, Ridged riders all had an amazing ride because of all Scott’s work.
Thank you again Crazy Scott.
I didn’t win, but came damn close for a “roadie” as I heard a few people say, but if you remember I started on the dirt! 45 seconds close to be exact!  If my ischial tuberosities were not so tender I might have been able to catch him, guess that is where the pampered ass of a roadie get pounded.  But Friedman can tell you I only pitch, so no!
The best part of the whole weekend was that I borrowed the MTB from East Coast Brawler Cale.  He had to get the MTB out of his attic and we built it up on Thursday, I rode it around neighborhood ditches for an hour on Friday, then raced it on Sunday!  I had not even ridden a MTB since last November or October!  I was dialed and liquid latex saved the day.
