Citius, Altius, Fortius
Uncategorized July 2nd, 2008Olympic motto is Citius, Altius, Fortius, which is Latin for “Swifter, Higher, Stronger”.
These simple 3 words have been etched in every aspiring athlete all over the world who wish to achieve seeing the colors of the Olympic rings for their very own eyes.
Most athletes only dream and wish for this too happen….”wouldn’t it be so awesome if I or we made it there!”……”he wins the Olympic Gold in unpresidented fasion….at Olympic record pace…..this is the first time an American has ever won an Olympic Gold in Cycling!” so on and so on.
I have worked and worked to come close but not actual make the games.
Although never did I imagen that I would be able to go the Olympic games. Well in 2008 I am getting to go to the Olympic games. I will not be there in the flesh, but I will be there in the heart of my best friend. Mike Friedman. Mike Friedman has made the coaches selection to achieve his life long dream of actually compete in the 2008 Olympic games.
I am so excited for Mike and all of the other athletes that will be participating at the 2008 Olympic games.
Although this is a bitter sweet victory for myself as I was so close but yet so far from making the Games.

Brad - you have amazing class and are an amazing person to have as a friend. Mike is a very lucky man. As I’ve stated many times, I am really proud to be your fan. And I’m really excited to see you doing so well. This past springs hiccup feels like forever ago!

Brad,
to paraphrase, what does it benefit a man to win the world and lose his soul? Dude, you have not lost your soul.

That is a true friend. Congrats on being one of the FINAL FOUR riders competeing for that spot. You’re in good company and that is certainly something of which to be proud. 2012 ain’t that far away either.

Class. As you said before, you gave it your all. Be proud of your accomplishments and of your friendships - which in the long run are way more important in life.

Brad, Was good to see you (briefly) in Austin. Was rooting for you for the Olympics…but then again, I was rooting for Friedman as well. The two of you are both awesome, on the bike and off. You are a role model that I wish all cyclists would follow. It takes someone of great character to be happy for a friend - I’m extremely proud to hear your reaction. You were right in there. Now that your knee is better, there is absolutely nothing stopping you! 2012, baby!

That blows. Atleast you get to save your lungs from the pollution and your stomach from the food.
You still have a long career ahead of you. So next time is definitely a possibility. Stay strong like bull. Hope to see you in August. We can make out and hold each other until you feel better.

Mike, I can’t imagine you crying any harder than our last night. Remember how I held you so tightly next to me. Your breath is my breath. Your love is my love. Let me hold you and we become one.

Brad, I am so fricking PROUD of you!! And thrilled that I know you, and get to be your fan! Mike will make us all proud.
But I will say, I was worried about your lungs and stomach too. I remember how rough the race was in Indonesia last year, and Venezula (sp?) too.
You’ll still be going strong in 4 years! Meanwhile, you can ride with your super teammates on the great team Jelly Belly!!

You are top class! Well done, but remember that while Friedman is having to ride in circles, you can continue to kill at the crits!
